Campania: Recipes & Wanderings Across Italy’s Polychromatic Coast explores Italy’s culinary heartland, captured through the lens of South African photographer and artist Lea Colombo. The third launch in Belmond’s bi-annual cookbook series, it is produced in collaboration with apartamento.
Part cookbook, part photography, the 208-page tome also includes essays by Italian writer Claudia Durastanti, journalist Margo Schachter and Milan-based editor Elisa Carassai. Beautifully illustrated throughout, Campania captures the tastes and kaleidoscopic sights of southwestern Italy.
Originally unveiled during Milan Design Week 2025 as part of Belmond’s takeover of the Airmail Kiosk, which presented a selection of its cultural publishing, the third edition will be joined by the first and second volumes of the series, Liguria and Penang, inspired by the kitchens of Portofino and Malaysia.

The newest addition delves into Campania’s distinctive landscape and features three guest recipes by renowned chefs Nina Clemente, Bernardo Costantino and Salvatore Giugliano, alongside 21 classic dishes, many taken from Caruso’s executive chef and Naples-native Armando Aristarco.
Originally from Torre del Greco in Naples, Aristarco now oversees the hotel’s kitchen in Ravello, where the team produces roughly 60 pizzas every day. Made by hand and topped with locally sourced produce from around Campania, the pizza oven is the culinary heart of Caruso.
Inviting readers to discover Campania’s gastronomic history and culture, the book features some of the region’s most treasured dishes you’ll want to make again and again. Whether pizza, linguine alle vongole or Neapolitan ragù, these recipes offer a taste of Italy’s territorial and culinary diversity.

This captivating volume takes us from the nonna and mother of olive oil producer Marco Rizzo to those who carry Campania’s flavours and traditions of the land like Caseificio Barlotti, one of the region’s oldest mozzarella producers in Cilento National Park.
Along the way, we’re also introduced to other recipes, such as Caprese Salad, Gnocchi alla Sorrentina and Classic Parmigiana, perfect for recreating at home to enjoy with family or friends. For those with a sweet tooth, there’s Fior di Latte Ice Cream & Olive Oil, Caruso Gimlet and a Lemon Delight Cake.
Campania further engages readers with a journey to Gragnano, home to the family-run Pastificio Gentile, where the world famous pasta is bronze-cut and shaped into delicate forms. Plus, a visit to Olio Rizzo in Felitto shows how the olive oil farm preserves the rich agricultural traditions of the region.
