Family-run business KARCHER DESIGN has made a name for itself creating door handles that win international awards and get specified for projects around the world. This year, the brand will be appearing at 100% Design in London, showcasing their designs inspired by places around the world, including parts of the United States.
The Montana ER54 handle was inspired by the state in the northwest of the USA, a mountain state crossed by the Rockies and full of beautiful natural scenery. KARCHER DESIGN took inspiration from Montana, creating a refined handle with a softly rectangular shape. The rounded edges provide comfort for the user and the options of satin stainless steel or cosmos black finish offer versatility for designers. Available on round and square rose, the simplicity of the elgonated shape is designed to appear timeless, offering an elegant finish for projects.
This year, the Montana ER54 will be among the products KARCHER DESIGN shows at 100% Design, which takes place at Olympia London from 18-21 September 2019. The multi-generational brand will be at stand G6B, showcasing the three-part rose technology featured in many of their handles, including the Montana ER54, designed to offer stability and easy assembly. This also features in the popular Black Edition, with its electrostatically applied powder coating and scratch-proof finish – the range recently won a Red Dot Award in the category of materials and surfaces.
Other products on display include the inlay door handle, Torino R53. The slight rececss incoporated in the casting allows for inlays in a range of colours and materials, and the shape – a round neck connected to a cuboid handle – is designed to match both round and square escutcheons. The ER87 Las Vegas, designed by Itamar Harari and winner for the German Design Award, is more rounded, with a futuristic look lent by its flat, curved shape. It will be displayed alongside its match, the ER88 Nevada, a handle twisted around its own axis, offering a dynamic-looking aesthetic that mirrors the design of the Las Vegas.
