For the chance to win a bag of Present & Correct stationery and a copy of our latest issue, Poland, use Instagram or Twitter to send us photos of patterns in everyday life Our new issue, Icon 144: Poland, is available from tomorrow and we are launching an online photography competition to celebrate. In the issue, Warsaw-based curator Klara Czerniewska writes that a new generation of Polish designers – from Maria Jeglinska to Oskar Zieta – is rejecting the cool minimalism that characterised the post-1989 years and showing a renewed interest in colour, decoration and patterns. For this month’s competition, we are asking you to send us photos of patterns – whether natural or manmade. One lucky winner will receive the selection of prizes above from Present & Correct To enter, follow Icon on Twitter and Instagram and use either platform to send us photos you have taken on your phone that in some way embody the theme – using the @iconeye handle and the hashtag #iconphoto At the end of the month, Icon’s art desk Anja and Simon will select their favourite entries, which will be featured on Icon’s website. One overall winner will receive a selection of Present & Correct stationery, as well as a copy of our latest issue and one other recent one. You can read more about our latest issue, Poland (pictured below), here – which features Barozzi Veiga’s celebrated Philharmonic Hall in Szczecin on the cover. |
