This September, Task’s Shoreditch showroom welcomes a new display from Italian design house Marelli, bringing a selection of its latest furniture to London as part of the Shoreditch Design Week. Fresh from Milan, the collection explores a softer, more tactile approach to contemporary interiors, spanning seating, tables and occasional pieces across the contract, hospitality and residential sectors.

Materiality is central to the display. Veined marble tabletops in rich burgundy and warm cream tones are paired with sculptural bases in bronze and brass finishes, while bouclé and velvet upholstery introduce texture through a warm palette of rust, terracotta and cream.

Together, the pieces demonstrate Marelli’s ability to move between contract, hospitality and residential settings without losing its distinctive Italian identity. Rather than treating workplace furniture as a separate category, the collection draws on the more relaxed language of hospitality and residential interiors, where comfort, material and atmosphere play an increasingly important role.
The display also reflects Marelli’s wider approach to design: a combination of craftsmanship, customisation and carefully selected materials, rooted in the company’s Italian manufacturing heritage. The result is a collection that feels contemporary without being transient, with natural materials and considered detailing giving each piece a strong sense of character.

The showcase forms part of Task’s wider celebration of its Italian design partnerships this September. Visitors to the Shoreditch showroom will be able to explore the collection throughout Shoreditch Design Week, experiencing the materials and finishes first hand.
