Rotterdam-based designer Sabine Marcelis has joined forces with Six Senses Ibiza for the unveiling of Tanit, an off-grid glass sculpture powered by the sun. Realised in collaboration with wellness and technology brand Lyma, Tanit was curated by Ibiza’s renowned Soleille Gallery.
Nestled beside the rocky beach at the resort’s subterranean Beach Caves – the artistic and cultural heart of Six Senses Ibiza – the art uses the sun’s energy to illuminate itself through the night. By day, Tanit absorbs sunlight; by night, it glows.

The reflective glass piece installation is synonymous with the designer’s bold, signature style. Following a series of recent works, including an exhibition at Capsule Plaza with XL EXTRALIGHT, she also appeared at Clerkenwell Design Week in May 2025 to speak of her work.
Like previous collaborations, Tanit follows her recognisable aesthetic, which emphasises transparency, reflection and an interplay of light. Named after the ancient Phoenician goddess of fertility and the moon, the sculpture is an ode to Ibiza and covered in reflective coloured glass.

Working closely with Lyma, the artwork integrates solar technology, with solar cells embedded in the sculpture’s glass surface that gather energy from the sun, allowing Tanit to power its own lighting after dark.
By bringing Marcelis’ reflective glass artworks to Six Senses Ibiza, the resort invites visitors to engage with the pieces directly and encourages moments of reflection. These works both bring visual appeal to the resort’s rocky beach but also underscore the importance of bringing art to public spaces.
Tanit opened on 25 June 2025 at Six Senses Ibiza. The outdoor installation will remain on view until the end of October 2025.
