Japanese designer Sayoko Shibuya established Sayoko Designs in London in 2013. This collection explores the concepts of “air” and “water”. Air is a substance that only becomes visible to the human eye underwater. This series of lights shows bubbles throughout the lower surface structure to channel a soothing and calm sub-aquatic effect. Acrylic is a flexible medium, allowing for further exploration of this theme, which focuses on two of the four elements. This series is based on a “paper-like” sheet of acrylic. Pictured here is the BLUE lamp.
