Daevas is a small collective of designers founded in 2013 by Asia Samimi and Nima Fardi. While working with concrete they realised the vast possibilities the material offered and designed the Inside Out lamp in order to value, emphasise and manifest its unique characteristics. The main form is based on Fibonacci’s spiral, while the body of the lamp juxtaposes how we usually imagine a concrete exterior by presenting a fine and detailed surface. The small steps, which gradually incline towards the centre, represent the “inside” of the lamp and the rough part, expected of the concrete material, represents the “outside”. The shade is a simple metal frame made from brass. The lamp is offered in grey and white.
