The ABC rule 17.07.12

ABC detail1

The humble ruler might seem an odd choice for Rethink. After all, it's stood the test of time. An everyday object for the creative industries, marrying form and function. Something you can rely on.

The thing is though, as often as not, designers work in paper sizes. Over the years, some of the arbitrary figures associated with the ISO system stick in the mind. We all know A4 as 210 x 297mm, but what about C6? Even if you know the dimensions that define A5 without a visit to Google, cutting down a B2 sheet to increments of 148.5mm is a pain. For us then, the standard steel ruler just doesn't measure up.

Designed to ease a career-long frustration, The ABC Rule combines millimetres with ISO A, B and C sizes to make paper simple. An essential part of the creative toolkit, rethought.
