Royal Institute of British Architects has revealed the six buildings shortlisted for the 2018 Stirling Prize.
Those nominated for the UK’s best new building by RIBA include university halls of residence, a nursery school, and a central London office block.
The overall winner will be revealed in October.
‘This shortlist illustrates why UK architects and architecture are held in such high regard around the world,’ RIBA President Ben Derbyshire said.
“Years of thoughtful design, collaborative working and a desire to nurture the human spirit has resulted in six buildings of real integrity and purpose. I am sure they will continue to inspire those who experience them, for decades to come.”
Previews winners include Hastings Pier (2017), Caruso St John’s Newport Street Gallery (2016), and Astley Castle (2013).
