Stuart Middleton

Middleton is interested in the coercive nature of metaphors: why they originate and how they entrench identities. His work often examines ‘hyper-masculine’ environments such as agriculture, prison, the military and managerial hierarchies to explore how emotion, capital, technology, gender, power and cruelty are interwoven within these structures.
