Maps and the 20th Century: Drawing the Line

The British Library drew on its vast collection of maps to put together this exhibition about the advances in mapping technology over the last century, from the land surveys of 1900 to the development of satellite imagery by 2000, from secret spy maps to the New York Subway. It looks at how maps became increasingly present in 20th century lives, addressing questions of war and peace, movements of people, nature and even financial markets.
