The Pope of the Avant-Garde: Tadeusz Peiper in Spain, Poland, Europe

During the first decades of the 20th century, the relationship between the literary and artistic avant-gardes in Europe became unusually close. This exhibition explores this period of creative intensity through the oeuvre of eminent poet and critic Tadeusz Peiper. Exploring Peiper’s connections across Europe, audiences will travel from Paris to Madrid and on to the futurism of pre-war Krakow. On display will be examples of Peiper’s collaborations with artists such as Kazimir Malevich, Juan Gris and Fernand Léger.
