In 2012, the Louisiana launched its major exhibition New Nordic – the first chapter in a series on architecture, culture and identity – which attempted to unpick a common "Nordic" design language. After the second show, 2014's Arab Contemporary, comes Africa, examining the architecture and living practices of the continent. Moving beyond aesthetics and materials, Africa will use buildings as a way to talk about how communities interact with space on a more profound level.
