Doris Salcedo

Colombian artist Doris Salcedo often uses furniture and large-scale architectural installations to abstractly explore the politics of oppression, racism and loss. Occupying four levels of the Guggenheim's Annex galleries, this major retrospective will present significant sculptural works from Salcedo's three decades of practice, as well as documenting her architectural interventions, such as 2007's Shibboleth, which saw the artist hew a 167m-long crack in the floor of the Turbine Hall at London's Tate Modern.
