Drawing in LA: The 1960s and 70s

Charcoal, ink, pencil, collage, xerography and a host of other drawing techniques used by 50 Los Angeles artists in the 1960s and 70s are on show at LACMA this month. The show looks at how artists such as Ed Ruscha and Wallace Berman used the medium to express complex and abstract ideas at a time before the advent of Photoshop. An accompanying display focuses on the graphic experimentation of Ed Moses, featuring the artist's large-format graphite drawings of roses and diagonal grids.
