Helsinki Design Museum looks at the acerbic style movement of the 1980s from a Finnish perspective. The nation's political issues between 1980 and 1995 – centered around Finlandization and the atmosphere of the Cold War – necessitated a new expression in architecture, design and art. The show highlights homegrown heroes such as Jouko Järvisalo and Rita Taskinen, and international influences too, including Aldo Rossi, Nathalie du Pasquier and Philippe Starck.
