Building a Dialogue: The Architect and the Client

How did the pioneers of British architecture deal with their clients? This exhibition reveals the commissioning process behind some of London's best-known buildings, giving a rare look at what could have been. Original drawings for John Soane's Holy Trinity Church (pictured) show the design bouncing between neoclassical and extremely gothic, while a set of letters reveals the testing client relationship behind Christopher Wren's Royal Naval Hospital. Projects by William Chambers and Robert Adam also feature.
