1:1 Period Rooms

Greek architect Andreas Angelidakis is returning to the late 19th century when, before the rise of the white cube, it was popular for art museums to display period rooms that encapsulated tastes from other times. His installation is based on rooms in the Stedelijk Museum's collection, which was packed away in the 1970s to make way for its growing collection of modern art. Combining fragments from different rooms, Angelidakis will reflect on the changing way we use space in exhibitions.
