"In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had 500 years of democracy and peace – and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock." So remarked Orson Welles as Harry Lime in The Third Man. This exhibition begs to differ by presenting works drawn from the 500,000 objects in the museum's four collections to represent the past 100 years of Swiss design. More than 800 exhibits will be on show, including works by Le Corbusier, Max Bill and Hans Bellmann.
