Ming: 50 years that changed China

The 50 years between 1400-50 played a pivotal role in transforming China into a global power under the rule of the Ming dynasty. Beijing was established as capital city and the world's largest palace complex – the Forbidden City – was built. The exhibition takes a look at court life, the military, culture, trade and diplomacy in the Ming Empire through a rich collection of furniture, textiles, artworks, and of course iconic blue-and-white Ming vases.
