Ian Davenport: Colourfall

Waddington Custot Gallery is holding the first significant survey of the 25-year career of Ian Davenport. With influences ranging from European and American abstraction and the music of John Cage to his own urban environment, Davenport was one of 16 artists to exhibit in the seminal 1988 show Freeze, curated by Damien Hirst, and became the youngest Turner prize nominee the following year. Coinciding with the exhibition is the publication of a monograph of Davenport’s work with a foreword by Damien Hirst.
