Beneath the Ground: From Kafka to Kippenberger

Kafka’s unfinished story The Burrow is the starting point for Beneath the Ground, a show that takes a look at the psychological impact of subterranean dwelling. Contemporary artists pick up where Kafka left off, offering up both utopian and dystopian conceptions of underground living. An impressive line-up, including Fischli/Weiss, Roni Horn, Bruce Nauman and Gregor Schneider, presents a series of disquieting installations, drawings and surveys exploring life concealed below ground.
