I am a Sender. Multiples by Joseph Beuys

Joseph Beuys questioned the boundary between art and everyday life, and sought to blur it by placing thousands of industrially produced Multiples – editioned prints and objects – into circulation. Intended as carriers of the artist’s social and political ideas, Multiples allowed Beuys to reach a much wider audience than through traditional practices of painting and sculpture. I am a Sender is the result of a joint research venture with the Busch-Reisinger Museum that aims to honour the artist’s goal for his Multiples to function as “transmitters” of his artistic ideas to the world.
