The cover stars of Icon’s last issue will build a multi-sensory artwork in a cinema during Salone del Mobile Studio Swine will create an installation for fashion brand COS at Salone del Mobile in Milan this April. The multi-sensory piece will be centred around a blossoming sculpture at Cinema Arti, the decommissioned 1930s cinema designed by Italian architect Mario Cereghini. The London-based studio’s founders, architect Azusa Murakami and artist Alexander Groves, appeared on the cover of Icon’s February issue. ‘2016 was a year full of changes and crisis and so we wanted to create an installation that could offer a moment of contemplation,’ they said. ‘The inspiration for the installation was nature and the changing of the seasons. For us, this idea has such universal beauty. We aim to create a democratic experience which brings people together.’ Click here to read more about the Studio Swine issue and here to order a copy of the magazine |
