Still from Gabriele Muccino's short film, Senza Tempo (Timeless)

Venues including east London's the Truman Brewery (26 August), Brighton's The Basement (1 September) and Edinburgh's Picturehouse (8 September) are playing host to the Peroni Nastro Azzurro Accademia del Film Wrap Party Tour – a series of events on Italian film in 11 cities across the UK between August and November.

A new short film, Senza Tempo (Timeless) by Gabriele Muccino – director of Hollywood and Italian films including The Pursuit of Happyness, Sundance Audience Award-winner L'Ultimo Bacio (One Last Kiss) and the recent Baciami Ancora (Kiss Me Again) – will be on show, as well as bespoke "cinema cubes" where visitors can learn about the principles of Italian filmmaking.

The Accademia del Film was set up to support upcoming filmmakers and Italian film in the UK, focusing on a series of principles such as "heritage", "realism" and "passion" and showing the craftsmanship and attention to detail applied to making Italian films.
