Japan Handmade

An installation for Japan Handmade at Milan Furniture Fair will present a modern take on traditional spaces for reading, drinking tea and meditating

The Danish studio OeO has designed a thoughtful exhibition for Japan Handmade: a collective of six Kyoto-based craft companies that have been in operation for over 100 years.

The installation will bring a modern take to traditional spaces for the rituals of reading, taking tea and meditating. Oeo are also responsible for the objects on show, made with craftsmen from Japan Handmade.

These include: Kaikado, a metal tea caddy; and the Ki-oke stool, based on the craft of making wooden buckets.

On display at Milan Furniture Fair from 14 to 19 April 2015: TATRAS showroom via Privata Gaspare Bugatti 3
