The Canadian designer will use Caesarstone’s surface materials to build a giant swing set at Milan Furniture Fair this month Canadian designer Philippe Malouin is bringing a playful touch to the Palazzo Serbelloni with a giant swing-set – his installation for surface manufacturer Caesarstone. Movements will allow eight visitors to swing freely on a line of seats made of the 2015 range of hard materials. The structure’s stark design should make an interesting contrast with the palace’s decorated Grand Hall. It follows a similar installation by Malouin for January’s Interior Design Show in Toronto, which comprised 12 seats in a circular formation (pictured above). In another room at Salone del Mobile, a series of planters handmade by Malouin (pictured below) show his investigations into using the material for marquetry and geometric inlay patterns.
