Danish homeware and textiles label Tekla has united with Jamie xx, a British musician, DJ and one of three members of The xx, on the launch of a limited capsule collection unveiled today.
Coinciding with the launch of Jamie xx’s upcoming album In Waves, the collection comprises hooded bathrobes and beach towels in a bold monochrome graphic colourway inspired by the In Waves album artwork.
Set to be released in September, the album features 12 songs, including collaborations with well-known artists including Honey Dijon, Robyn, The Avalanches, and more. Capturing the highs and lows of an unforgettable night out, In Waves takes its inspiration from Jamie’s experiences over the last few years.

‘Jamie xx has been a part of Tekla’s community since the beginning,’ says Charlie Hedin, Founder and Creative Director, Tekla. ‘We are thrilled to celebrate this moment with him by bringing our worlds of music and design together.’
Its range of hooded bathrobes is made from Tekla’s high-quality organic cotton in a 385 GSM to balance softness with absorbency, crafted with In Waves’ bold black and white artwork and featuring an embroidered Jamie xx logo.
The extra-long cotton yarns used are twisted to provide a superior touch, while the dense weave ensures longevity. All pieces are cut with a spacious fit for comfort after bathing, promising warmth, softness and style.

Elsewhere, beach towels are made in a dense weave for shoreside lounging, which is gentle on the skin, but the intricate design also ensures maximum absorbency for drying. Each piece features a large branded canvas tag and the striking In Waves’ design.
Established in Copenhagen in 2017, Tekla was born from a desire to bring modernity and freedom of expression to the homeware category. Taking inspiration from art and architecture, most notably John Pawson, Donald Judd, Le Corbusier and Agnes Martin, it creates elevated yet functional homeware pieces that centre a timeless design expression.
The capsule collection is available online at teklafabrics.com and in the Tekla Copenhagen shop on Vognmagergade 7
