LA MOCA director Phillipe Vergne has fired the museums chief curator for ‘undermining the museum’
Los Angeles’ Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) director Phillipe Vergne has fired chief curator Helen Molesworth for ‘undermining the museum’.
Molesworth’s Kelly James Marshall and Anna Maria Maiolino exhibitions were MOCA’s most acclaimed in years. Given Vergne has repeatedly moonlighted on curatorial duties with less success, one wonders whether he felt less undermined than overshadowed.
