Kanye West's first YEEZY Home architecture project appears to be a concrete social housing development
Just weeks after Kanye West announced his official launch of his YEEZY Home architecture practice, the controversial rapper has been linked to a social housing project.
Developed in partnership with Petra Kustrin, Jalil Peraza, Nejc Škufca and Vadik Marmeladov, images of a neo-brutalist courtyard, built from a prefabricated concrete shell were widely shared on social media. Though West is tagged in the images, he is yet to make an announcement regarding the project.
The structure features a sunken concrete courtyard, surrounded by a flat-roofed structure, with strong visual cues to West’s Yeezy fashion studio in Calabasas, LA. There are no details on the scale or delivery of the project, yet.
The rapper launched YEEZY Home last month with the goal to ‘make the world a better place’. He followed the announcement with controversial statements about slavery and a meeting with President Donald Trump.
