Steven Holl's gargantuan Linked Hybrid project in Beijing is the cover star of this month's icon, and inside the American architect tells us about his sudden reinvention as a visionary. Sticking with the vision thing, in our conversation section artist Martin Creed discusses the similarities between art and design with Industrial Facility co-founder Sam Hecht.
We also pay a visit to ardent French self-publicists 5.5 Designers, and have a snoop around Thonet's factory floor. There's also a trip to see FAT's trippy community centre in the Netherlands.
