Day One kicked off with a visit to fashion designer Lulu Guinness' life-size pin art machine, then a look around the famous Farmiloe Building where Moooi, Timorous Beasties, Viaduct and Lee Broom were all showing off new products. We also dropped by the old petrol station on Clerkenwell Road, impressively transformed into pop-up bar by Giles Miller Studio with products from Material Lab.

Day Two we experienced the Emotion Maker: the inflatable music installation by architects Plastique Fantastique and composer Marco Barotti that popped up (literally) on St John's Square. Rad Gallery's set-up caught our eye at the House of Detention – artist Dari Bae's hair filament chandeliers looked even eerier against the backdrop of an old prison cell.

Day Three the rain came. But the thunderstorms and dark clouds did nothing to dampen the spirits of Clerkenwell's design crowd. London Design Guide's Max Fraser hosted a cycle tour of CDW highlights while over at the Farmiloe Building, Noam Toran and Onkar Kular gave a fascinating talk for Icon Minds on forgeries, film and the bizarre stories that have inspired their design projects.
