Mira Yung is a Vancouver-based designer, born in Hong Kong, whose work includes industrial, exhibition and interior design. Speaking Uvula, pictured, is a porcelain speaker in the form of an open mouth. The high density and sustainable properties of porcelain makes an excellent material to use for accentuating sound waves. The addition of high quality sound components and the flaring form at the front helps transmit sound waves even further. Uvula is mass-produced through the process of slip casting. |
