Pilot and photographer Kacper Kowalski shot this series of images from a paraglider or a gyroplane 150m above the ground. “What interests me most,” he says, “is the question: what is the natural environment for humans? Is it an untouched, virgin landscape or one that has been adapted to human needs?”
The watercolour designs by Balashova – the architect behind much of the Soviet space program – evince a surprising delicacy and style. Below is her drawing for the interior of the Soyuz landing capsule from 1970. Her work will be on show at Frankfurt’s Deutsches Architekturmuseum from this week
